Prototype notes
The prototype of this wagon was built in 1877, and had a long life of nearly seventy years, not being condemned until the 16" May
1946.
Its NBR running number was 25687, with 70000 being added in LNER days.
The livery including solebars was mid grey (George Dawson uses Humbrol 27 - note this number may have changes since these notes were supplied,) with the running gear etc. being black. Lettering and wheel rims were white. In LNER days, standard grey was applied to the same scheme. However, the lettering from the grouping until 1937 is uncertain, and any help here would be much appreciated.
