Prototype notes
Ten of these wagons were built at Cowlairs in 1897, and all were based at Sighthill. They were originally fitted with lever hand brakes, as depicted in this kit, but sometime after 1926, screw brakes were fitted. Further information on this brake would be welcome.
Known NB numbers are 56750, 56757, the LNER added 70000. The last in Service was 756757 which was withdrawn in 1946.
